Fashion Stories I've Never Told Anyone
2023 most favorite NYC spots + fun plans I have for YOU for the new year
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas if you celebrate. I know the holidays may look different for everyone, but I hope yours come in some versions of great catch-up stories with loved ones, festive decorations, and delicious foods. I hope you’re well because that’s the most important thing!
By the time this newsletter goes out, we’d already be in Washington D.C. This Christmas, we’re spending the week with my partner’s family, and hopefully, I will get to spend the next Christmas with mine. Not sure why, but this year, I really don’t have much expectation in term of activities. I’m really just excited to sit around doing nothing! So don’t miss my 31 days vlogmas over on IG reels!
Now, you might want to grab a cup of tea for this. Story time!
My fashion stories
Back in the fall of 2021 (so 2 years ago!), I went to my first Khaite Sample Sale and then The Row Sample Sale (each happened a few weeks after each other). I remembered noticing that there were a lot of women who dressed the same way as how I would dress. The girls were in blazers, long coats, designer bags, and cool shoes — to go shopping at sample sales, and I was amazed and amused! Despite of all of the chaotic and hassles of sample sale shopping (it’s not for everyone!), it’s a really nice feeling knowing there are so many people out there who would enjoy doing this kind of thing. It makes me feel less alone or that something I’ve been doing solo for so long, others are also doing it solo. And it’s totally cool. Fashion-obsessed people are cool. To me, it’s worth it because I’ve not only been able to make new friends but also scored some great pieces at a price you cannot find anywhere else. It’s the NYC experience everyone has got to live at least once!
