An's List - The June Edit
my swimwear obsession, beauty and fashion favorites, & summer musing
Happy summer solstice!
It’s been two weeks since I’m back from vacation, but I feel like I’m still playing catch-up. My sleep schedule is all over the place, and so is NYC weather. We as New Yorkers, indeed, have experienced all kinds of weather except June weather! It’s hot and humid, so all I’ve been doing is glued to my laptop. I posted the Kauai Travel Vlog on Thursday, so check it out if you haven’t already. Every vlog is a labor of love, and it means so much to see or hear that you enjoy it as well. I don’t know how to express this gratitude other than saying THANK YOU. Thank you for watching, reading, and supporting my work!
The June Edit
This week, between editing for the vlogs, I’ve also been shopping, from things around the apartment, to groceries and clothes. I feel like I have nothing to wear! Ugh! Coming back from vacation and seeing photos of me in bikinis, I’ve realized that my body isn’t the same anymore, and I’ve gained weights, mostly on my thighs and arms. With the type of work that I do - writing, filming and editing videos, I do have to admit that it is a contributing factor. Aging. Sad! I know talking about body image and dieting can feel triggering to some of you, but I’d love if I can tone my legs and arms, even just a little bit, by the end of summer. Would doing pilates regularly work? Lifting weights? Running? Any tips besides going to the gym would be appreciated.
MUSIC
I visited the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay in Princeville, Kauai, for the day, and this was the playlist that they had played in the lounge. It was perfect and set the mood for relaxation. This is the playlist I've played on repeat while road-tripping through Kauai. It’s a mix of pop, R&B, Indie, and electronic music.
This and this are my two current summer in the east coast playlists!
RECENT FASHION & BEAUTY FAVORITES

COMME SI boxer shorts (S) in Martini Stripe and Maraschino (red) - Bought them last year, and they’re what I reach for weekly! Also, I can’t forget to mention the vintage Rodeo graphic t-shirt that I bought from Banana Republic store in SoHo. It wasn’t cheap, but it’s one-of-a-kind kinda purchase that makes so much sense in my head. I love it so much!

left: AURATE NY Bezel Tennis Necklace & CAITLYN MINIMALIST A initial necklace; right: The Row Chocolate slides (sold out) - SIMILAR, Ella+Mila nail polish in Paint The Town Red. I’d also highly recommend this gel-like top coat!
For beauty favorites, this moisturizer and this moisturizer from DAMDAM have been my go-to. They’re both light, bouncy, and perfect for the warm weather. Belif sent me two of their newest sunscreens, and I reach for this face sunscreen every morning and this stick for on-the-go touch-up.

Earlier this week, I was invited by Fueguia 1833, an Argentinian perfume house based in Milan, Italy (their lab and HQ are there!), to come in for an in-store shopping experience. Video is to be followed at the end of this month, so stay tuned! After the experience, I went with Fueguia 1833 Muskara Phero J., a musky powdery scent that smells incredible and lasts so long on me. It belongs to the Pheromone family (meaning it’s a fragrance that’s designed to mimic or enhance the effects of pheromones, which are natural chemical signals that some animals use to communicate, including attracting mates!). So think human skin scent, and everyone’s smell is different and unique! It’s my first niche perfume bottle, and I’m so obsessed with it.

Julian Bedel founded Fueguia 1833 in 2010 as a continuation of his research on the science of scent and the aromatic landscapes of Argentina. They now have over 100 fragrances, made in collaboration with cultural tastemakers and brands like Rolls-Royce, Gabriela Hearts, Ett Hem, and more.
MY SWIMWEAR OBSESSION
I have a confession to make!
I’m obsessed with swimwear! I love water and love going in water, and going to the beach is my #1 favorite summer activity. I love the salty water and dipping my toes in the soft white sands, and the sound of the waves crashing shore puts me to sleep. Even though I couldn’t really swim (like I couldn’t save myself if anything, and I’m terrified of the deep ocean.), I could float and move around a controlled body of water like the pool. I’m jealous of people who can surf or jump in the ocean whenever they want to. Hopefully, one day!
Kauai beaches are some of the best I’ve been to, and I love how easily accessible they are. I wore this purple tropical bikini, gifted by SAME, on the first beach day, this striped brown bikini from Faithfull the Brand sample sale at 1 Hotel, and this white one-piece from Hunza twice. I’ve got to say that not all swimwear pieces are flattering (at least on me now that I’m in my 30s), and I’ve come to realize that I look best in one-piece swimwear or bikinis with a bit more coverage. I could do string bottoms, but the triangle fabric pieces in the front and back have to be bigger than my hands!
Now that summer is here, I look forward to going to the beaches in the Hamptons. I have a cabin stay with a hot tub booked in early of July, so I’m actively shopping for more swimwear pieces to add to my collection. Here’s everything I my eyes on.
Jcrew: this balconette bikini style, racer-back black one-piece, and this polka-dot one-piece
LIDO: Venti triangle black bikini, Lido x Seour brown one-piece, Lido x LIÉ STUDIO beaded brown bikini
NU SWIM: polka-dot one-piece, halter black one-piece, one-piece in hibiscus cream
Tropic of C: black scoop one-piece
Toteme: contrasting scoop-neck one-piece, white monogram bikini
Araks: black one-piece
ERES: black bikini
SARA CRISTINA: black bikini
ANNAGRETA: Isabel bikini

Left: STALOGY 365 Days B6 Notebook in Black (It’s just slightly bigger than my phone, compact and perfect to take it with me everywhere and whenever I just want to write down things. Meanwhile, I still use this A5 notebook as my main journal!); middle: Mini label maker (to label my spices and seasonings); right: iPhone 14 ProMax case in Klein Blue

I don’t often buy accessories like belts or sunglasses, but when I do, I make sure they are timeless well-made styles from brands that I love. Next week, I plan to stop by The Row store and try on what’s in store. It’s also because they’re not sold anywhere else, so that’s another excuse for me to make a it a trip uptown. Here are what I have in mind:
