The TikTok ban is taking over everyone’s life this entire week. If the ban goes into effect, it will affect so many people’s livelihood — the ways that they make a living and get their information (mine included).

If you’re a content creator and want to be in this space long-term, you have to know that losing your social platform (your account or the app!) is a possibility. I see Tiktok as an outlet to share my love for content creation, products from brands that I love and cool things I see along my travels. That’s how many brands discover me, and it’s an extension or a part of my personal branding package (if you like to put it that way!), not my entire package.

I saw THIS coming, and that’s why I started tapping back into making long-form content on YouTube last year. Not sure if we’re on the same page, but I’ve always believed in having a website (my blog Style & Senses is still up and running) that I have the full control of over multiple social media accounts and long-form (YouTube) over short-form content. It was also because I was tired of consuming and seeing everyone else around me consuming so much of the short and fast-paced content, for hours and hours every single day. I love long and slow-living vlogs. I do want my past social life back where people can sit by each other to talk and look at each other eyes to eyes. People don’t seem to make an effort anymore but rather stay home and scroll from the comfort of their home. It’s kinda sad and alarming?
